In recent days, the municipal Natural Resources and Planning Bureau’s enterprise-residency task force has conducted in-depth supervision and research at Shandong Weima Equipment Co., Ltd., gaining first-hand insights into the company’s epidemic prevention and control measures as well as its production and business operations. The team has listened carefully to the company’s concerns, provided targeted assistance to alleviate its difficulties, delivered enthusiastic services, and ensured that “both epidemic prevention and control and production and business development are pursued with equal emphasis and without compromise.”
“Have enterprises fully implemented epidemic prevention and control measures? Is current production activity being affected by the pandemic? And what difficulties are enterprises facing as a result of the outbreak that require assistance from government departments?” On the afternoon of March 14, a delegation from the Geological and Mineral Resources Center visited Shandong Weima Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. for an on-site inspection. The delegation gained a detailed understanding of how the company has implemented its epidemic prevention and control protocols and its production and business operations, inquired about any challenges or problems the company is encountering in these areas, and briefed the company on relevant municipal policies designed to support and assist businesses. During the visit, Director Zhang and his team inspected on-site防疫 measures at the gatehouse, including entry registration, temperature screening, and vehicle disinfection; examined protective measures in the canteen, such as staggered meal times and spaced seating; and reviewed the operation of disinfection facilities in workshops and other public areas. They commended the company’s防疫 efforts and their effectiveness, and shared best practices from other organizations for the company’s reference.

Shandong Weima Equipment Technology Co., Ltd., as a key enterprise in the Dongying Economic and Technological Development Zone, is currently grappling with several pressing challenges: first, severe labor shortages on the production front during the pandemic response, compounded by the inability of out-of-town employees to report on time and intensifying local recruitment competition, making it difficult to promptly fill staffing gaps; second, a substantial increase in the price of steel, the company’s primary raw material; and third, adjustments to export tax rebate policies and adverse external conditions that have constrained international logistics, thereby adversely affecting business in several key overseas markets.

Director Zhang encouraged enterprises to further bolster their confidence, emphasizing the need to both effectively control and prevent the epidemic and vigorously promote business operations and development. In response to the difficulties and challenges raised by businesses, she and the team members stationed at the enterprises pledged to immediately coordinate with the relevant functional departments, strengthen inter-agency collaboration, provide targeted support and coordination services, and deliver precise assistance to help enterprises resolve the obstacles and problems they face in production and operations. This effort will ensure robust support for normal business activities and strive to achieve the dual goal of effective epidemic prevention and control and steady business growth—ensuring that neither is neglected.
